Workspace: Notes, Verse on Premises, Verse Mobile · Category: Mail template
Problem. Newsletters, notifications and receipts crowd out the mail that needs attention. Users can build folders and rules, but few do, and rules do not exist in the same form on every client.
Proposal. Two built-in views, Newsletters and Receipts, next to the inbox. On any mail, the action "Always send mail from this sender to…" stores the choice per sender; delivery then files future mail there automatically, on the server. Newsletters opens with the newest items expanded for quick reading; Receipts stays quiet and searchable. The choice can be changed from the sender's next mail.
Benefit. The inbox shows people and work again, with one decision per sender instead of a rule-building session. It also gives Domino IQ categorisation a clean place to land later.
Related. IDEAMLCT-I-70 (categorise the inbox, since 2018), IDEAMLCT-I-3 (tags).
How this differs. IDEAMLCT-I-70 asks in general terms to categorise and prioritise the inbox and has been at "Future Consideration" since 2018; IDEAMLCT-I-3 asks for a full tagging model. This idea is a narrow first step that can ship on its own: two fixed destinations, one decision per sender, filing on the server. It delivers most of the value of I-70 without the design work of tags, and leaves room for tags or AI categories later.
