Starting Domino 12.0.2, HCL introduced the tell Domino Support <case_number> command (DOMINO-I-205) to collect logs locally (https://help.hcl-software.com/domino/14.5.1/admin/collectinginfotosendtosupport.html). However, unlike the equivalent HCL Traveler command (https://help.hcl-software.com/traveler/14.0.0/diagnosticcommands.html), the standard Domino command does not automatically upload the zipped logs to the designated support case.
During critical production events like server crashes or hangs, Domino administrators face massive friction. They must manually locate the IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT folder, zip the massive log files, log into the HCL Support Portal, navigate to the specific case, and upload the files manually.
The Request:
Enhance the tell Domino Support <case_number> command to automatically compress and securely upload the gathered logs directly to the specified HCL Support case over HTTPS/SFTP.
Business Value:
Eliminating this manual overhead reduces administrative friction during high-stress outages. It guarantees that HCL Support receives critical diagnostic data instantly, drastically reducing the time to resolution for critical cases.
