When migrating to a new Domino server using replication, users will face what they consider a data loss on the new server. Some users heavily rely on being able to restore deleted items, if a topic "comes back at them".
As a Domino Administrator, it is very frustrating to communicate a migration to a newer, faster, better server, but users pushing back because of the data loss.
Including soft deletions in a new replica can't be that difficult!
Use case for me:
Currently looking into ways to check if Replicas are most likely in sync by comparing the numbers of documents in them.
I have done this historically (many years ago) in counting the number of documents in a sepcial view, because the number of documents in the database proofed not to be reliable enough back than. Today support pin pointed me to this wish for the potential reason.
