Allow UI Theme and Color/Font Theme Preferences to Persist in HCL Domino Designer

In HCL Domino Designer 14.5.1, user-selected UI theme and Color/Font Theme preferences do not persist across client restarts. Regardless of the selected theme, the application automatically reverts to "SWT V14 theme Citrix" and the default Color and font theme after restarting Designer.

Current Behavior

When a user changes the UI theme from File → Preferences → General → Appearance, the selected theme is accepted temporarily. However, after restarting Domino Designer, the theme automatically reverts to "SWT V14 theme Citrix".

Similarly, the Color and font theme preference also reverts to its default setting after restart, preventing users from retaining their preferred appearance settings.

Additionally, a yellow warning icon is displayed when selecting a theme other than "SWT V14 theme Citrix".

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open HCL Domino Designer 14.5.1.

  2. Navigate to File → Preferences → General → Appearance.

  3. Observe that the current theme is "SWT V14 theme Citrix".

  4. Change the theme to "SWT V14 theme" or "SWT V11 theme".

  5. Click Apply and Close.

  6. Restart Domino Designer when prompted (or restart manually).

  7. Reopen Domino Designer.

  8. Navigate back to File → Preferences → General → Appearance.

Observed Result

  • The selected UI theme is not retained.

  • The theme automatically reverts to "SWT V14 theme Citrix".

  • The Color and font theme also reverts to its default setting.

  • A yellow warning icon appears when selecting a theme other than the Citrix theme.

Expected Result

The selected UI theme and Color and font theme should be saved and persist across application restarts unless explicitly changed by the user. The application should honor the user's selected preferences instead of automatically reverting to the default Citrix theme.

Business Impact

Users are unable to customize and retain their preferred Designer appearance, resulting in an inconsistent user experience and requiring repeated manual configuration after every restart. This is particularly inconvenient for users who prefer non-Citrix themes for improved usability or accessibility.
