the VOP notification system needs to be improved : push notification

VOP (especially in PWA version) is very popular with customers, one of the aspects to improve is the delay of notifications and the way they are handled.

I just think you could improve on that by implementing push notifications. doesn't require much effort, but it would give another UX to the end user

I hope my suggestion can help you create a better product.

making the product better UX side also means this.

The effort is minimal: but the UX is maximum

To build on this: it helps to separate two distinct problems that the current 5-minute polling tries to cover with a single, blunt mechanism.

    1. Live updates while the app is open. Today the client asks "is there new mail?" on a timer. The expected model is a persistent server→client channel where the server pushes the change, so new mail appears with near-zero latency and no wasted requests. A configurable polling interval is a welcome mitigation here, but it's still polling.

    2. OS-level notifications when the PWA is closed or backgrounded. This is what polling can't address at all — if the app isn't in the foreground, there's nothing to poll. The standard answer is the Web Push API (Push API + service worker). OWA already does exactly this; Microsoft even documents "OWA web push notifications" as a supported feature.

On top of that, the Notification API supports inline actions — archive, mark read, quick reply straight from the banner — which is the "rich" part of the UX.

So: configurable polling is a good near-term step, but if the goal is for Verse to be the reference mail client, a persistent channel plus Web Push is really table stakes rather than a nice-to-have. Happy to gather concrete customer scenarios and votes to support prioritization.

There should also be a method where the push notification can work when not fully authenticated ( application level password? ). Otherwise notifications can be missed if not logged in at the time.

The 5min polling is really very annoying. Maybe a first step is to make the polling interval configurable.
