The customer is requesting an enhancement to allow users to automatically use the Domino Directory on the server as the default directory when addressing recipients in HCL Notes.
Currently, when a user addresses a recipient for the first time, the local personal address book (names.nsf) is selected by default. The user must manually switch to the Domino Directory on the server to search for and select recipients.
The customer would like the ability to configure the Domino Directory as the default directory, eliminating the need to manually switch directories each time.
A source code change to the HCL Notes client is required to introduce an administrator-configurable option that allows the Domino Directory to be selected as the default address book for new client installations, instead of the local Personal Address Book. This enhancement would enable administrators to configure the desired default behavior centrally and eliminate the need for users to manually change the selection.
