Current Behavior:
When an image is pasted into the body of an HCL Notes email, Notes preserves the formatting context of the pasted content and changes the active font to Default Sans Serif. Any text entered after the image continues to use this font until the user manually selects the configured default mail font.
Development has confirmed this behavior is working as designed and occurs with images copied from both Microsoft Word and web pages. The pasted image itself is not affected; only the active font for subsequent text changes.
Requested Enhancement:
Improve the compose behavior so that after an image is pasted, HCL Notes automatically restores the user's configured default mail font for subsequent text entry, rather than switching to Default Sans Serif.
Customer Expectation:
The customer has validated that Microsoft Outlook retains the expected default mail font after pasting an image and would like HCL Notes to provide similar behavior.
Business/User Impact:
Users must manually reselect their preferred font after pasting an image, resulting in an inconsistent and less convenient email composition experience.
Recommendation:
Consider enhancing the mail editor to preserve/reapply the configured default mail font after image insertion while continuing to preserve the formatting of the pasted image itself.
