In the supported HCL Notes client 12.0.x and later, users who rely on keyboard navigation find it difficult to access and interact with the embedded Sametime client. Functions such as changing the Sametime Status and navigating the Sametime Contact List are not easily accessible using keyboard shortcuts alone and typically require the use of a mouse.
Requested Enhancement:
Enhance the embedded Sametime client to support full keyboard navigation for common tasks, including:
Accessing the Sametime Status menu.
Changing the user's presence status using the keyboard.
Navigating the Sametime Contact List.
Moving between embedded Sametime sections using standard keyboard navigation (for example, Tab, Shift+Tab, arrow keys, and other appropriate shortcuts).
Performing common actions without requiring mouse interaction.
Business Impact:
This enhancement will improve accessibility and usability for users who primarily use the keyboard, including users with accessibility requirements. It will also provide a more consistent navigation experience across the HCL Notes client.
