The Group name supports with wildcard asterisk(*). support entry and ACL supports Group name with wildcard entry.

The Group created with a name that adds a wildcard asterisk (*) is not supported in the Domino Environment. The recommendation is that you use only these characters for the name:

  • letters A - Z

  • numbers 0 - 9

  • ampersand (&)

  • dash (-)

  • period (.)

  • underscore (_)

  • apostrophe (')

  • space

The functionality should allow the group to be created with a name that adds a wildcard asterisk (*).

In the Database ACL, you can enter hierarchical names with a wildcard character (*) in the ACL. You can use wildcards in the common name and organisational unit components..

As per product document, you can use the wildcard asterisk(*) only at the leftmost portion of the ACL entry.

The functionality should allow wildcard asterisk(*) entry any place of the Entry such as in middle or in right most.
