A certain VCF file does not show the contact's email address when the VCF is imported to the Local Address Book. However, when the VCF file is opened using a Text Editor (e.g. Notepad) or viewed from iPhone, the address is shown.
If the VCF file is opened using a Text Editor, the following information can be seen:
BEGIN:VCARD
VERSION:3.0
PRODID:-//Apple Inc.//iOS 7.1.2//EN
N:LastName;FirstName;;;
FN:FirstName LastName
ORG:Organization;
TITLE:TestTitle
item1.EMAIL;type=INTERNET;type=pref:tom.address1@domain.com
item2.EMAIL;type=INTERNET:address2@domain.com
TEL;type=CELL;type=VOICE;type=pref:<mobile number goes here>
X-MS-IMADDRESS;type=pref:FirstName LastName <address@domain.com>
IMPP;type=pref:x-apple:FirstName%20LastName%20%3Caddress@domain.
com%3E
END:VCARD
Notice in the above that the lines which contain the addresses show "item#.EMAIL" as opposed to just "EMAIL".
If we manually remove "item#." and save the changes, the addresses would then appear from Notes regardless if the VCF was just opened with Notes or the VCF is imported to Contacts.
I request to have Notes be able to import the addresses even if the VCF is in this format.
