HCL Nomad support for authentication and home server resolution across multiple Domino domains

We have encountered a use case involving users whose accounts and Home Servers reside in a different Domino domain from the primary Nomad deployment domain.

In this scenario:

  • The user belongs to a separate Domino domain

  • The configured Home Server exists in that external domain

  • HCL Nomad appears to attempt to open or resolve a remote server across domains during authentication or application launch

This may be a valid multi-domain deployment scenario, but the current behavior and supportability are unclear. We would like HCL to clarify whether cross-domain Home Server resolution and authentication are officially supported in Nomad deployments.

    We can't do this in Nomad directly as we need the IDVault in the Nomad server domain to contain all the all of the Notes IDs for the users. As you have separate domains this is not achievable.

    Options:

    1. Create a landing page that asks for the users name and then you redirect them to the correct Nomad server, based on internal lookup table.
      This required Nomad servers in each domain.

    2. Merge the domains and ID Vaults to have a single domain.

    In our environment, with 10+ Domino domains, we absolutely would love to take advantage of Nomad for those Domino domains situated outside of the current Nomad Domino domain. Our Nomad server was deployed w/in what we would consider our primary Domino domain, but we have quite a few satellite locations where our users w/in those domains could find value in leveraging the Nomad services as well.

    Please add this ability.
