Using Eclipse as a framework for Notes has such a huge potential. Embedding your CRM as a custom search engine in Notes? Checked. Showing data from the CRM in a sidebar automatically based on mail's sender? Checked. Rendering documents from multiple databases in one view (think of unified workflow tasks center)? Checked. Possibilities are endless and Notes can be a center stage of company's diverse application environment. This is thanks to the nature of Eclipse plugin architecture, anyone can extend Notes in any way they need.
I think most people hope that Eclipse will be eradicated once and for all...
